Domain Optimizing

From my experience, domains at Parked.com , do get indexed in around 2-3 weeks. Even if it doesn’t, it is very important to make proper use of your titles, title tags and meta descriptions. It all helps in getting a good quality score from Yahoo. Making your domain relevant to the keyword is vital. So make sure that you have your meta tags, title and keyword properly set up the minute you point your nameservers to parked. For this, locate the domain you wish to manage from the dashboard domain search bar (located below the quick links). Now click on the edit link which is the very last column on your domain search results page. This will bring you to the main domain editing page.

On the very top of the domain editing page, you will see the domain title tag. Click on the link edit to add a call to action. Let me use one of my domains as an example. On my domain www.ukvehicleinsurance.com, the title reads “get a low rate quote now..”. That is my call to action. Let me add that if you are running any ad campaigns, your title should match your actual ad header. So if you were advertising your domain with an ad title like “30% Discount on Car Insurance”, your title should continue the visitor’s flow of thoughts with an apt title like ” Save 30% More With a Quick Quote Now!”.

Now lets move on to the title tag. Remember that the title tag appears on your browser title and should not be confused with the domain title. The title tag can be found lower down in your edit domain page in the advanced options on the left side. Here in this case, I have added a short title tag to my domain which reads “UK Vehicle Insurance”. You can view this on your browser title heading. Your title tag need not be lengthy and must be a quick short keyword rich description.

Finally, lets enter some description in the meta description in the description tag on the right. Here, for this domain, my meta description reads, “Cheap UK Vehicle Insurance Rates. Find Low Rate UK Motor Car Insurance Policies. Compare Cheapest UK Car Insurance Companies Now!”. This makes use of the maximum permissible words for your description on Parked.

So there you are, you now have a relevant domain page at Parked.com . I will later post more details on customizing images, adding text, editing keywords etc.
