Is Domaining Right For You?
Aug 9th, 2008 by Raaj
Some domainers make more than $5000 a month, and some much more, and I know, for a fact, that these people are just plain simple domainers like you and me. This industry is worth investing time in, provided that you really have the “right approach”. Or else, someone could spend 10 years in this business and yet not be able to quit their day time jobs.
The right approach, is the ability to be constantly aware of new keywords and online search patterns and buying domain names with either a great type-in potential or a future intrinsic value appreciation. For example, maybe someone buys ” xyz treatment.com”, which is a newly discovered human disease, and which holds huge potential for diagnosis and treatment in the near future. When awareness of this disease increases, and advances in treatment of this disease are made, we could expect the value of this domain name to increase manifold.
The decision to devote your time to this profession is solely yours and should be based on your belief in your abilities, patience and will power. The ideal approach would be to take this business more like a “hobby” at the start, where any income made, is like an extra bonus to your salary. Slowly but steadily, if this extra income becomes substantial enough, you may then want to think of turning this hobby into a profession. This is the safe approach to the domaining profession.
Not right approach, more like lucks, Of course you need to put time and determination in it, before you can even break even. I won’t dream of making millions.

I like what you said - you must consistently work on finding new trends and keywords.
